Welcome, my fellow study buddies!

I've created this blog for both myself and for anyone interested in studying Korean. I am currently at a low-intermediate level of Korean, so many of my posts will most likely be most more helpful to anyone above beginner level. I will however try to include basic tips and resources that may be helpful for anyone.

About Me

Hello!
My name is Seol-Ah. Actually, Seol-Ah is my Korean name. My real name is a secret! I'm a 23-year-old American, currently living in Canada. Last year I attended Hongik University's Korean Language program through level 2. Since leaving Korea, my motivation for studying Korean has dwindled considerably. Despite having a Korean boyfriend, I have not been practicing speaking in Korean hardly at all. However, due to some challenges that arose in our lives from the COVID-19 outbreak, I have found a new spark to start learning Korean again on my own. My goal is to reach Korean language proficiency as quickly as I can, at a rate that some people may even consider impossible.
My current motivations for becoming fluent are the ability to communicate with my boyfriend's parents, become a competitive job-seeker in South Korea, and even apply to college there. As my first step towards achieving proficiency, I am (was) determined to memorize 6000 of the most commonly used Korean words in under 100 days.
As time goes on, I will be posting tips and tricks that I have discovered throughout my journey, as well as resources and anything else I believe you may find useful. By sharing my progress during the next few months and long into the future, I hope that you will gain inspiration for reaching your own goals. Feel free to comment on posts, ask questions, share your progress, and follow along with me!
